Surfing and E-Foil surfing

Bota, one of the longest-running surf camps on the island, is located near Vrboska. Here, there is almost always wind, and the tarmuntana and maestral winds that gradually strengthen throughout the day make this location ideal for both beginner and advanced surfers. There is not much traffic on the water, so you can surf peacefully from the Nudist camp to Zečevo islet, while more advanced surfers venture further into the Hvar Channel. As part of the new Valamar resort in Stari Grad, they offer rentals of stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks, and tennis courts with the possibility of taking lessons. In the last few years, a new sport called E-Foil or Wing Foil has emerged, and you can also try it here.

You can also find E-Foil in the town of Hvar, where surfing is particularly exciting as the tours take place around the Pakleni Islands. In addition to riding, they offer the option to have your entire riding experience recorded with a 360-degree camera, as well as underwater filming. I’m certain that the guide will impress you. For Hvar town, you can contact the team from HvarFly.

Flyboaard and wakeboard

One of the longest-standing boat rental companies in the town of Hvar also offers exciting water sports such as flyboarding and wakeboarding. While I haven’t personally tried these sports (yet), rest assured that the team comes highly recommended. Find details about prices and schedules here – Mario Rent Hvar.

Tandem Jumps From An Airplane

Parachute jumps are a unique experience that has been available on the island for a long time. The flights take place from our small airport near Stari Grad, and you can book them from June to September. Each tandem jump includes an experienced instructor, necessary equipment, and a plane ride. At the end of the jump, you will receive a bravery certificate. In addition to tandem jumps, the team also offers fun activities for more experienced individuals, such as freeflying, formation skydiving, and wingsuit flying. Panoramic flights Over Island Of Hvar

I’m not entirely sure if panoramic flights fall under extreme sports, but let’s imagine they do. As someone who has been at the controls of a Cessna, I can confirm that flying in that small aircraft is indeed an extreme sport. The flights take place from June to September, and the plane can accommodate up to three people. The ride lasts for about half an hour, taking you over the town of Stari Grad, the city of Hvar, and to the Paklinski Islands. For details and reservations, please visit the website of Panoramic Flights Croatia.

Cliff climbing, or sport climbing, is a popular activity on Hvar Island

A sport that has become particularly popular on the island in recent years is sport climbing. In addition to the via ferrata that has been present in Sveta Nedjelja for about ten years, Hvar Island offers over 500 climbing routes and around ten climbing areas scattered throughout the island. For details about specific routes and accessibility to certain climbing spots, please refer to the Climbing on Hvar website.

If you prefer not to climb on your own, I recommend contacting a trainer who can guide you on fun climbing tours. For the city of Hvar, you can arrange everything with the agency PURE. For Jelsa, Stari Grad, and Vrboska, contact Guesthouse ROČE, which offers accommodation with a climbing wall. Genius, isnt’ it?

That’s it for now.
