Best destinations for slow travel on the island of Hvar

Congratulations! If you’ve chosen this text, it is possible that I can convince you to explore the island at a slower pace. When planning a trip where you truly want to relax, especially if you are traveling with children, choosing the right destination on the island is crucial.

The best destinations to enjoy on the island of Hvar are Stari Grad, Jelsa, and Vrboska. Why choose these places specifically, and how do they differ from the others? They are small towns yet large enough, perfect for those seeking a combination of Mediterranean charm, family vacation, culture, and sports activities. They have preserved the traditional way of island life and have a historical culture worth exploring. Additionally, the activities offered will be sufficient for, let’s say, a seven-day vacation. Here, you will find numerous restaurants, wineries, galleries, museums, and concept stores brimming with authentic island products.

Ovdje ćete naći brojne vinarije, galerije, muzeje i koncept dućane prepune autentičnih otočnih proizvoda.

You can choose locations that offer a relaxing atmosphere and a connection with nature, such as family hotels, particularly those with a sustainable travel label like the Amicor Green Resort in Stari Grad. Then, explore numerous seaside cottages or luxury vacation homes with a pool, which are becoming increasingly popular each year.

I leave you with a location idea that has always evoked a special sense of tranquility in me. The beautiful road and promenade that connect Jelsa and Vrboska, hidden in the shade of a pine forest, are home to cottages that you will rarely find elsewhere on the island. The low, elegant houses right by the sea with private beaches, large gardens, and courtyards are gems of Yugoslavian architecture. The location is called Vitarnja, and if I could choose, this is where I would spenf my vacation.
